Traditional Japanese Tsuina (Oni) Mask

-----Description-----

The Tsuina (追儺) mask represents the devil/demon, or Oni of the supernatural.

These masks date back to the Heian period, used in an annual event in the Imperial Palace on New Year's Eve (December 30 (old calendar)).

This yearly event is the source of the current Setsubun festival, known for its "bean-throwing" ritual.

Traditional Japanese plaster & resin

Please see pictures for sizing. (We use a tennis ball for customers to gauge the size of the items.)
