Traditional Japanese Furyumen Mask

Furyumen (浮立面) is an oni (demon or ogre) from Saga prefecture in Kyushu, Japan. There is a female and a male mask. The female mask has a wide open mouth, extended tongue, and many wrinkles. The male with the mouth closed and large horns.
The masks were worn in two traditional dances, "Otonari" and "Hahagaura ura," to the rhythm of flutes and drums.
The dance protects against natural disasters and demons and brings a good harvest, family safety, peace, and happiness.

Condition: Please note that all the masks listed are old and have been used by Japanese people. This gives the items various weathering and imperfections. You can see the quality of the items in the photos.
