Traditional Iron Japanese Tengu Mask

Tengu (天狗, "heavenly dog") are a type of legendary creature found in Japanese folk religion and are also considered a type of Shinto god (kami) or yōkai (supernatural beings). They are mountain dwellers who despise and attack vain and self involved individuals.

Tengu usually appear dressed in the robes of a Buddhist monk with a small black cap favored by a clan of warrior mountain monks called the Yamabushi. The Yamabushi worshiped the tengu and sought enlightenment through suffering exposure to the bitter mountain terrain.

Please note that all the masks listed are old and have been used by Japanese people. This gives the items various weathering and imperfections. They are not perfect. You can see the quality of the items in the photos.
