Traditional Japanese Chikyu Mask

Chikyu (地久) is one of the characters in the Bugaku (舞楽) performance "Hira mai".

In the dance, four to six people move in unison and wear flowing cloaks with colorful helmets resembling phoenixes. 

Chikyuu celebrates the eternity of heaven and earth with slow, graceful movements that bring life to the mask's radiant joy. 

Its prominent nose has a steep bridge, curled smiling eyes, and curved eyebrows, giving the impression of laughter emerging from parted lips.

Please note that all the masks listed are old and have been used by Japanese people. This gives the items various weathering and imperfections. They are not perfect. You can see the quality of the items in the photos.
