Traditional Japanese Konron Mask

Konron (崑崙) is one of the masks used in the traditional theater Gikaku, Japan's oldest recorded performing art. In the play, the half-man, half-beast Konron character attempts to woo the beautiful Go-Jo, Princess of the Kingdom of Wu.

Konron described as a demonic barbaric, lecherous villain, , who represents greed and other “low” human qualities.

Please note that all the masks listed are old and have been used by Japanese people. This gives the items various weathering and imperfections. They are not perfect. You can see the quality of the items in the photos.
