Traditional Japanese Susanoo-no-Mikoto Mask

-----Description-----

Susanno no Miikoto (素戔嗚尊) is the kami (god) of the sea and storm, and one of the most significant in Japanese mythology.

Legend is Susanno was born when the god Izanagi washed his nose. He is the younger brother of Amaterasu, the sun goddess and ancestress of the Japanese imperial line.

After feuding with his sister, Susanno was thrown out of heaven. When he descended to earth, he found a couple who were on the verge of sacrificing their eighth daughter to the eight-headed serpent Yamato no Orichi. Susanno battled and defeated the monster with alcohol, and when beheading and de-tailing the beast found the sword Ame-no-Murakumo-no-Tsurugi ("Sword of the Gathering Clouds of Heaven")

Taking the sword and the couple's daughter as his bride, he returned to heaven after gifting the sword to Amaterasu as an apology.
