Traditional Japanese Douji Mask

Douji ( 童子) [Young boy] represents a boy between 8 and 20 years old living in a Buddhist temple. He studies the sutras and performs various errands as part of his training to become a monk.

The Boy attendants to Buddhist deities like  Fudou Myouou (不動明王) and Monju (文殊).

Please note that all the masks listed are old and have been used by Japanese people. This gives the items various weathering and imperfections. They are not perfect. You can see the quality of the items in the photos.
